Of Arctic Proportions!
We're just about 2 weeks away from our first event of the year, Arctic Outreach! We take a lot of pride in helping to run Arctic Outreach and your support allows it to be one of many successful fundraisers for our Foundation throughout the year. Here are a few answers to questions that we've been getting...
- Why do you run an outdoor event in February? Arctic Outreach was put together within a few weeks back in 2016 for a family that is near and dear to us. Braving the elements shows our togetherness as a community. There are a flurry of events when it is warm outside, but it's nice to start the year off with significant funds to donate.
- Where does the money go? We're adamant about being transparent and calculating everything down to the penny. The event runs in honor of Mallory McBrien and a % of proceeds always goes to her two children, Cedar & Piper. Recently, we were filled in on a tragic car accident and have all agreed that the family of Maryann Murray Levine will receive a donation immediately after the event. We'll also allocate some funds toward our Oyster Recycling Program - if you don't know what oysters do to keep our waterways clean, then check out our PSA. At the end of the day, our Jetty Rock Foundation helps people and the environment in coastal communities!
- Mud City Crab House is awesome, but where do I park? We run a free bus service which loops all day from two locations: The Stafford Community Center and Southern Regional Middle School! Please park legally if you find a spot on Bay Avenue.
- Can I donate if I can't make it to the event? Yes! You can send a check made out to Jetty Rock Foundation (509 N. Main St. #3, Manahawkin, NJ 08050), drop one off to our Flagship Store (same address as above) or Text "eskimo" to 41444!
- Can I volunteer? Yes! Check out our volunteer positions here.
- Can my business sponsor the event? Yes! Check out our sponsorship opportunities or suggest a new way to contribute!
